The Wildlands. The Savage Kingdoms. The Violent North. Dikar has been known by many names, each equal parts reverence and warning. Dikar sits north of Avenir and west of Selva.  From the treacherous woods of Cana to the frigid    mountains of Ursoka  to the arid    desert    of Nagasava, Dikar boasts an environment as unforgiving as its people.  The most expansive of the Prime Lands, Dikar is divided into  4 distinct climates: the woodlands to the southwest,  the mountains that span most of the north, the plains of the south, and  the islands that make up Cepho-Pesca    in     the far southeast. However, while this division reflects the climates and terrains of each area, it is the political divisions that define Dikar.

Dikar is governed by the 8 Apex Clans, families of powerful Beast Callers who each possess the Essence of the most prominent predator in their region.  Clockwise from southwest, the regions and their ruling clans are:

         - Sus Maja, Land of Boars, run by the Pork family

         - Cana, Land of Wolves, run by the Wolfe family

         - Simisima, Land of Apes, run by the Kong Dynasty

         - Ursoka, Land of Bears, run by the Kodi clan

         - Avaria, Land of Birds, run by the Clawe Empire

         - Nagasava, Land of Serpents, run by the Greenscale family

        - Felicia, Land of Lions, run by the Leone family

         - Cepho-Pesca, the Marine Lands, run by Mako Sharptooth (Cepho-Pesca is mostly independent, run more similarly to Selva than the                  rest of Dikar)

Furthermore, while each territory has its own ruling clan, there is a grand tournament held every 5 years to determine which family will serve as the Ruling Family of all Dikar. This tournament is the pinnacle of combat and politics in Dikar. And, for the last 3 years, the Leone family has been its champion. The tournament is held in the Citadel, the capitol of Dikar and the center of most of its commerce and political discourse.  The Citadel acts as a sort of neutral zone between the clans, and is named after it's massive tower, which sits in its center and can be seen for miles.  Dikar shares a tentative treaty with Selva, trading goods and services that sustain both their ways of life. However, while respected, neither is fond of the link, and tensions are tightest at the border of Selva's Poble Vora and Dikar's Cana.

The people of Dikar value  3 concepts above all else: Loyalty, Honor, and Strength.  They settle disputes through ritual combat.  They punish the guilty with exile, imprisonment, or death. And, they protect their territories with vicious ferocity. However, beneath their savage exterior, there is a strong sense of love and community that is shared between the varying cultures. More than anything, they love the creatures of the land. Beasts are not pets in Dikar. They are family or food. Never both. Animals here are among the most evolved and intelligent in all the known world. Many creatures operate with autonomy within the Citadel or their native lands, on a level that rivals most of the people.

Intelligence isn't the only thing that separates the beasts of Dikar from those elsewhere. Some beasts have even evolved specializations found nowhere else on Rin, assisting them in adapting both to the unforgiving climate of the their land, and    to their place on the food chain. And, some of these advancements in evolution make their way into the powers of Callers. These are known as Evolved Combat Beasts, and are arguably the most powerful physical summons of all Callers. More often than not, there are only 2 times when one would see such a beast in person: either as a spectator of one of the games, or just before their grizzly end.
