Hey. I'm Xin Graves, co-author of Callers: Emergence.
I'm here today to tell you about the World of Eodiena, the continent of Rin, and the 5 Prime Lands. It's a lot of lore to maintain so, let's get you up to speed. Here we go.
Eodiena (pronounced Oh Dee En Uh) is a rocky planet about three times the size of earth, nestled in an unnamed star system. Pretty much never comes up, but now you know. The name Eodiena is Korean for "everywhere."
Get It? Lol.
Eodiena has two moons, Yue - named after the moon spirit from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Tsukino - Sailor Moon's Japanese name. We like references. There are a lot of them. Here's another one now.
On Eodiena, there's the continent of Rin, which is technically a reference to two different anime, depending on which co-author you ask. For Kat, it's a reference to the main character of Blue Exorcist, a half demon who uses the power of the devil to perform, well... exorcisms.
For me, it's a reference Naruto Shippuden, where Obito had to watch his crush take a chidori to the chest by his best friend, a young Kakashi, kicking off much of the plot. The name of Obito's ill-fated crush was, you guessed it, Rin.
So, we call our magic system Essence. It's a naturally occurring kind of energy that exists in some form and amount in basically all sentient beings. Like chakra, chi, kai, etc. You get it. Some especially concentrated forms of Essence allow a user to call on some of the forces of life and physics on Eodiena, hence: Callers. A few centuries ago, 4 of those forms, Beast, Storm, Plant, and Gate, established their own societies and civilisations built around their respective forms, becoming 4 of the 5 prime lands.

Atmos - The Outlands is the westmost Prime Land. Atmos was a great nation of stone and glass, but was ravaged by the constant chaos of reckless Stormer duels. Now it's a volatile wasteland full of roaming gangs, bounty hunters, scavengers, and the few Atmosians who are either to weak, too scared, or too stubborn to leave.

Selva - The Greenlands is a dense jungle Prime Land carefully preserved and protected by the Planters who live there. The Selvari believe that everything one needs is provided by nature, and so they outright reject technology. Everything - their clothes, building materials, food, hygiene items, toys - all grown from the soil or made from their natural Calling.

Dikar - The Wildlands is the largest and most geographically diverse Prime Land, making up most of the north and half of the east parts of Rin. Woods, grasslands, mountains, plains, desert, and an archipelago all fall under Dikaran rule, divided among the 8 apex clans and their kingdoms. These are The Wolf clan of Cana, the Boar clan of Sus Maja, the Ape clan of Simisima, the Bear clan of Ursoka, the Bird clan of Avaria, the Serpent clan of Nagasava, the Marine clan of Cepho-Pesca, and the Lion clan of Felicia, the latter of whom is the current ruling family of Dikar proper.

At'aasi - The Highlands is situated in the far east of Rin. Most of the Prime Land is actually a series of floating isles kept aloft by the power of Essence Stones (natural crystals that carry concentrated Essence, and resonate with matching Callers).
The At'asaai are an esoteric elitist society of pacifists who place a strong emphasis on academic achievement and personal excellence. They reject failure. Those that don't measure up get relegated to Haruka, a violent and chaotic slum island, and the only part of At'aasi that's not in the sky.

The fifth nation is Avenir - The Midlands. It's the youngest of the Prime Lands, and was established as a haven for sapiens - people who aren't Callers. Sapiens actually make up a great deal more of the population, but mostly took a backseat during the formation of the main cultures. It's called the Midlands because it's the only Prime that borders all the other 4, which has both the cause and effect of keeping Aveniran policy strictly neutral. To maintain the safety and prosperity of this neutrality, Avenirans leaned heavily into the development of advanced technology. Basically the opposite of Selva. The discovery of Biochromium, a sort of living metal grow deep within the planet's crust, paired with that Aveniran technology, led to the creation of the Augments. They're basically cyborgs.
There's a TON more to discover on and about Eodiena. There's a short version of this in video form on our socials. But the best way to explore our world is to see if for yourself. Grab a copy of Callers: Emergence, and journey into the World of Eodiena.
